SCARBOROUGH and Ryedale Carers Resource and Ryedale Carers Support are working together to provide a new free drop-in service to local carers.

Both organisations help carers in the area by offering information, advice and training around issues relating to caring, as well as respite care, help with hospital discharge and support groups.

The sessions are held on the first Monday of every month, at 1-3pm, when support workers will on hand at Pickering library to talk to carers and help with concerns, for example, about equipment and services available and general caring roles.

The two charities provide carers’ support and advice. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer for either charity can visit the drop-in sessions or call (01723) 850155.
