Driving fun day

YOUNG motorists are invited to take part in a fun day at Wentworth Street Car Park, Malton, on Saturday.

Wentworth Wheels is offering people the chance to test their driving skills, watch practical demonstrations, look at a mini car show and enjoy other attractions from 11.30am to 4.30pm.

The multi-agency event, which has been organised by the Safer Ryedale Partnership, is concentrating on road safety and will feature representatives from the fire service, police force, ambulance service and county council’s road safety team.

Firefighter Mark Naylor, chairman of the Scarborough Ryedale & Whitby Road Safety Steering Group, said: “The day is geared around the younger driver, however it is not exclusive, so please speak to your friends and families and get yourselves along for an meaningful interactive day with people who want to reduce traffic collisions, as a result reducing fatalities and life changing injuries.”
