Fireworks set to go with bang

TOWNS and villages around Ryedale are all set for Bonfire Night on Saturday.

In Helmsley, a bonfire will be lit at 6.45pm at the Community and Sports Club on Baxtons Road before fireworks at 7pm. Soup and hot dogs and a tombola add to the attractions.

In Leavening, organisers are holding a bonfire on the field to the left of Wold Hill at 6.15pm followed by a firework display 15 minutes later.

And on Sunday, The Old Lodge Hotel, Malton, will light its bonfire at 6pm with fireworks to follow.

Some events are charging entry while others are free to the public.
