Mayor calls for public’s support

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help keep Kirkbymoorside
Library up and running.

The call comes after two recruitment days in January saw 22 people sign up.

But, from April, volunteers will be needed on Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons and evening.

Cllr Chris Dowie, the Mayor of Kirkbymoorside, said: “The more volunteers there are the better, as it will mean each person is needed approximately once a month, for about two and a half hours.

“There will always be two volunteers in the library at any one time and back up help will be available from the library service.”

Training sessions are being held throughout March on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 10am to 12pm and Tuesday afternoons, from 2pm to 4pm.

Anyone who would like to be involved at the library is asked to leave their name and contact details with library staff or the town council office.
