A working clock called Time at Helmsley is one of the centre-pieces of an exhibition at Scarborough Art Gallery.
By Geoffrey Brignall, the piece features a scene of the Ryedale town.
The exhibition called Your Place Or Mine is a collaboration between members of Scarborough Art Society and students at Yorkshire Coast College.
It celebrates coast and countryside with paintings in all mediums from pastels to oils, watercolours to photographs. There is a range of style from abstract to sculpture.
Thornton-le-Dale is featured as are scenes near Malton and Pickering.
Launching the exhibition, the principal of Yorkshire Coast College Clare Wareing said: “A lot of work, time and energy has gone into this show. It is not just about painting but also about research and the social side of art.”
It runs at the art gallery until February 24.
