Another year meant another card from Her Majesty The Queen for Ida Pettet.

The 106-year-old, who lives at Rivermead Care Home, Scarborough Road, Norton, celebrated her birthday with friends and family at a garden party where they enjoyed a buffet lunch in a sun-soaked garden and fun and games, including some hymn singing.

The day was a double celebration at the care home on Scarborough Road, Norton, as fellow birthday girl, Kathleen Jackson, turned 82-years-old.

Ida, of Helmsley, said about her card from the Queen: “It was a very nice card as you would expect from her.”
