A SMALL group of enthusiasts is meeting on Friday to discuss their ambitious dream of reopening a stretch of the former rail network across the Yorkshire Wolds.
They want to set up a heritage railway society to drive the project forward and they've issued an open invitation to interested individuals to join them.
Peter Dymock, inaugural chairman of the group, said it was too early to say which section of the rail line the new society would target, and admitted it would be an expensive project, but he said: "We've got to start somewhere. We're looking for like-minded people with anything to offer to join us. We've booked a room that holds 100 people and I want to fill it."
The meeting will be held in the Old Lodge Hotel in Malton on Friday at 7pm.
