CROWDS flocked to Pickering Game and Country Fair to see two celebrity chefs cook up a treat at the weekend.
The Northern Events Arena at Pickering Showground became a food theatre for the fair and all 1,000 seats were taken with standing room only for top chef Antony Worrall Thompson’s three cookery demonstrations on Saturday. The hall was almost as full for Sunday’s demonstrations by Italian restaurateur Aldo Zilli and Andrew Pern, of the Star Inn at Harome.

Simon Boak, of Pickering-based The Events Office, said the fair was very successful and the food and cookery side of it had added a new dimension this year.

Also new was a heavy horse show which attracted 24 entries from across the region.
