PICKERING Showground will play host to thousands of young people when this year's CultureShock festival starts tomorrow.
The four-day music and youth art extravaganza – now in its eighth year – was originally designed as a way for youngsters to enjoy all the fun of a festival but in a safe drug and alcohol free environment.

They can enjoy more than 25 different arts
-based workshops such as dance, drama, graffiti, film and animation as well as visiting the skatepark, hip-hop tent and circus zone or hanging out in one of the new tipis and watching some of the musical performances in the big top.

Free buses will transport young people from youth centres across the county for the show organised by Connecting Youth Culture which is part of North Yorkshire County Council's 4Youth service.

CultureShock was originally designed as a way for young people to enjoy all the fun of a festival but in a safe drug and alcohol free environment.
