TWO four-legged friends were enlisted to teach students about the dangers of drugs and life in prison.
Prison officer Simon Abbott took Ozzy the labrador and Jasper the springer spaniel back to his former school, Lady Lumley's at Pickering, to honour an invitation sent out during National Tackling Drugs Week.

The year 10 and sixth-form pupils learnt about both their roles at HMP Full Sutton, the other side of prison life and how Ozzy and Jasper were trained to sniff out drugs such as cannabis.

"It was well received by both the school and members of staff," said PCSO Joh Abbott, who helped organise the visit. "The pupils reacted very well and all the groups asked some excellent questions about prison life itself. It was good to show the police, prison service and the school are working together."

Teacher Jill Womack added: "If it helps one child not to take drugs in the future, it has achieved its goal."
