THORNTON-le-Dale Primary School is heading in the right direction, and it has a new award to prove it.The school has achieved the Geographic-al Association's Silver Prim-ary Geography Quality Mark as a reward for its creativity in teaching the subject.
Judges praised the school’s commitment to teaching outside the classroom, including fieldwork and day trips.” The award recognises the excellent work and in particular the dedication and enthusiasm of the subject leader, Karen Clark, in leading the development of geography,” said head teacher Lorna Karetnyk.” Our longer term plans are to continue to build on the strong commu-nity links which have contributed to the award and to add a global dimension to the curriculum.”
