A MALTON-based dating agency is bucking the recession to create two new jobs.
Lesley Brewer, of The Intro- duction Company, has appointed a PA and an events co-ordinator to help with the rapid growth of her business.
She puts much of the recent growth of the agency down to Meet and Greet events which launched last November and have proved a success in York, Leeds and Newcastle.
As a result Lesley is increasing the number of events and offering a wider range for single people wanting to meet others all over Yorkshire.
To cope with the demand she has taken on two members of staff.
Lesley Day, of Elloughton, near Brough in East Yorkshire, is the company’s new events co-ordinator while Elizabeth Frank, of Pickering, will become Lesley’s PA.
“I always meet all my clients and prospective clients personally and this means I am often in meetings for many hours at a time,” said Lesley, who started the business in 2006.
“The business has grown to such an extent that it is now too much just for me to handle.
“Obviously I am delighted with its growth, but the time has come to have more staff who can manage the administration side of the company and also organise all of the events which are hugely popular.
“Lesley was an ideal choice as she not only has experience in the dating industry but is as passionate about helping people as I am.”
She added: “I also thought it was a good time to employ a PA so that I can devote more time to my clients and growing the business.
“Elizabeth has a variety of excellent skills and is incredibly enthusiastic about the dating industry having spent several weeks working alongside me.”
The Introduction Company has around 500 members and a turnover of around £60,000, with plans to double its growth in the next 12 months
