RESIDENTS in Ryedale are being urged to become rotters.
A group has been formed calling themselves the North Yorkshire Rotters and are appealing for those interested in reducing waste, are interested in gardening and want to help their local community and the environment, to join.

The group is made up of enthusiastic volunteers who offer advice and support to people who would like to start composting and help those already composting to do it better.

Once trained, volunteers are expected to promote home composting for 20 hours during the course of a year through a range of activities.

Expenses to help people promote composting are provided.
