HOW do you cope with the most depressing time of the year?

Well why not follow the lead of children and staff at Pickering Infants School who held a Happy Day to banish the winter blues.

Scientific boffins claim that the third Monday of January is the most depressing day of the year by taking into
account the horrible weather, Christmas debt and failed New Year’s resolutions.

But that was not the case at Pickering Infants School when children and teachers were encouraged to wear brightly coloured clothes and throw themselves into fun activities such as creating a Mr Men Land, writing about and painting things that make them happy and singing happy songs – all of which was designed to put a smile to everyone’s faces.
