A bevy of girls donned fairy costumes to join author Joe Coates on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway’s latest venture, the reading of fairy stories.
Scarborough-based author Joe Coates read some of his stories to the youngsters as the train trundled over the moors from Pickering.
Peter Fisher, of the railway’s marketing department, said it was the latest part of the railway’s story reading project during the summer holidays, others focusing on nursery rhymes, The Hobbit, Alice in Wonderland and pirates.
“We have had a good season thanks to the weather,” he added.
Joe has written several books, centred on the North Bay Railway at Scarborough. “Reading to the children while they could also enjoy a trip on this marvellous railway was a wonderful experience, enabling them to hear stories and enjoy a ride on a historic railway,” he said.
Also taking part in the Fairy Special Trip were members of the Make a Wish Entertainment organisation.
Picture shows Fairies Enchantica, Trixabelle and Petal with Erie Brockless, Mia Ketanzo and Francesca Wilford, enjoying a tale from author Joe Coates at Pickering Station.
