Appeal after Pickering hit and run

Police in Pickering are appealing for witnesses after a hit-and-run in the town.

A green Suzuki Ignis was damaged by a second vehicle on Eastgate, near the Co-Op store, on Wednesday, March 19, between 11.30am and 4pm.

The offending motorist failed to stop at the scene.

PC Linda Coles, of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you were in the Eastgate area and witnessed the collision, I ask you to come forward and contact the police straight away.

“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who works in a vehicle repair shop, as I believe the vehicle which caused the damage will have also been damaged, and ask them to get in touch.”

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Linda Coles. Information can also be emailed to linda.coles@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
