Building materials stolen

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a number of thefts in Ryedale over the past several days.

In the first incident, a Ford Transit van parked on Goslipgate, Pickering, was broken into sometime between 5pm on Wednesday, January 9, and 7am the following day.

Various tools were taken, say police, including chainsaws, nailguns and battery-powered drills.

Meanwhile, a six feet by four feet generator, weighing half a tonne, was stolen from the front of a property on Peak Scar Road, Hawnby, on Saturday, sometime between 9am and 12.30pm.

It is valued at £3,500.

And a property currently undergoing renovation off Gillamoor Road, Hutton-le-Hole, was raided by thieves in the early hours of Friday. More than £2,000 of items were taken including a cement mixer, strobe lights, plastering tools, a wacker plate, and more.
