Local businesses have teamed up with the Malton and Pickering Mercury to give patients at Malton Hospital a festive treat.

Goodies worth £141.90 were bought for patients in the Ryedale and Fitzwilliam Wards who spent Christmas and New Year away from their loved-ones.

The annual campaign always attracts support from local businesses, said Mandy West, of the Malton and Pickering Mercury.

“We are grateful - as always - to our loyal advertisers for their continued support with our Malton Hospital appeal. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to buy presents for many patients who sadly spent the Christmas holidays away from their families.”

The Mercury and Malton Hospital would like to thank: Kirkbymoorside Golf Club, Goodys Hairdresser’s, G Chapman, Robsons, Ian Brown Tyres, T.F.M., Pro Pak Foods, Worldwide Shopping Mall, Lowfield Garage, The Smile Rooms, A D Sturdy, Turners Butchers, The Union Inn, Bainbridge Barnes Funeral Directors, E & A Agar Funeral Directors, Eldercare, Derwent Carers, Rivermead Nursing Home, Norton Joinery, W P Horsley, P Farrow, and Ryedale Garages.
