A bird of prey will be the star attraction when Castle Howard celebrates Easter this weekend.
Camilla, a Steller’s Sea Eagle which weighs 16lbs and has a wing span of 9ft, will appear on Saturday and Sunday with handler Ben Potter who will also be leading flying displays on Friday and giving visitors the opportunity to handle miniature owls on Monday.
Other activities planned at the historic house include sheep racing with runners including Woolly Jumper, Sheargar and Red Ram battling it out over jumps on the “Lamb National” course.
There will also be sheepdog demonstrations with Bob Hogg who is inviting the public to try out their own herding skills, interactive Easter themed trails around the grounds, face painting and crafts, and a chance to meet Molly the Easter Bunny out and about in the gardens.
The new woodland children’s trail and adventure playground will be open to visitors as well.
The displays and demonstrations at Castle Howard will run from Good Friday to Easter Monday, between 11am and 4pm.
All activities are included in a grounds admission ticket.
