Pupils at Lady Lumley’s School enjoyed a clean sweep in a competition designed to test their problem solving skills.
Two sixth form teams and Year 10 squad took top honours at the Rotary Club Schools Technology Tournament at the National Railway Museum in York earlier this month.
They were all given a task to design, develop, build and test a model from limited resources in front of a judging panel with backgrounds in engineering and technology.
Lady Lumley’s School has entered the one-day competition for the past six years but surpassed its previous achievements with the two sixth form teams awarded first and second prizes in their category while the Year 10 team also finished first.
The teams were made up of a mixture of science and technology students.
