The company behind plans to build a wind farm at East Heslerton have lodged a claim against the Secretary of State’s decision to dismiss the application, it has emerged.

RWE Innogy UK Ltd, formerly known as RWE Npower Renewables Ltd, are challenging the decision - on legal grounds - that the ten 126-metre high wind turbines would cause harm to the public enjoyment of the North York Moors National Park and St Andrew’s Church, East Heslerton.

Campaigner Paul Stephens, of Moor Farm, West Heslerton, said: “This is disappointing as we all hoped that this was the end of the matter and we could relax again.”
