SCHOOL pupils are invited to “do something funny for money” and design their own cupcake for Red Nose Day.

The two winners of the Comical Cupcake Competition will then have their creations turned into a delicious reality by organiser Andrew Walker and sold to the public with proceeds going to Comic Relief.

Andrew, the owner of The Patisserie Malton, is now calling on primary and secondary school pupils to get creative, put their designs down onto paper and send them in to him by Wednesday next week.

A winner will then be picked from among the primary school children and then their secondary school counter-
parts.

All designs must feature a maximum of three colours with the flavour to be one of the following – vanilla, chocolate, lemon or orange.

They should also be able to fit on top of a 7cm cupcake.

Andrew said: “We like to be original here at The Patisserie Malton, so we want you to think of something funny to go on top of your cake – not just a plain red nose.”

To enter simply put a design down onto paper and drop it off – along with a 20p donation to Comic Relief – at The Patisserie Malton, 8 Newbiggin, by 4pm on Wednesday, March 6.

The winning cupcakes will then be sold by Andrew from March 9 to 16.

Each winner will also be presented with their design on a 6” cake on Red Nose Day.
