KIDS can have some “Fun with Science” at Pickering Library next week.

The fun day is just one of a number of events planned to keep youngsters occupied during the half-term holidays and in the coming weeks.

Science boffins will be on hand to show seven to ten-year-olds what experiments can be conjured up from everyday items at the library on Thursday
February 21, from 2pm to 3pm.

Elsewhere, pre-schoolers can listen and sing along with Kathy Seabrook at a musical story time at Kirkbymoorside Library on Friday March 8, from 2pm to 3pm, and at Pickering Library, on Friday March 22, also 2pm to 3pm.

The library also offers a programme to help older residents.

Technology-phobes have an open invitation to learn more about computers and develop their I.T. skills, thanks to library staff who are also happy to advise older residents on form filling and with job seeking.

And for those people fascinated with history, Ryedale Family History Society will be on hand on the third Saturday of every month to help residents delve back in time and discover more about where they came from.
