The beauty of Farndale, its surrounding countryside and village life are the focus of a new calendar.

The 2015 Farndale Calendar features different aspects of the dale in the North York Moors National Park, including frosty winter scenes, sunrises, daffodils, haymaking and cricket, among others.

Proceeds from each and every sale will go towards the rebuilding fund for Farndale Village Hall.

The calendar was first produced in 2006, following a project by Derek Pickering and Angela Smith, both members of the Kirkbymoorside Camera Club, to document “A
Year in Farndale”.

They allowed their photographs to be used for a calendar which local resident James Thurtell then produced and put up for sale.

Soon afterwards, Jason Ferdinando, a graphic designer, moved to the dale with his young family and volunteered to take over the design with local photographers donating their pictures each year.

The only overheads now are the printing costs.

The calendar,at £6, is available from local outlets, including Feversham Arms Inn, Farndale, and BATA Kirkbymoorside.
