And thousands of pounds worth of fireworks will go up in smoke at Malton and Norton Rotary Club’s annual display next Wednesday at the Brooklyn Centre in Langton Road.

The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the display will start at 7pm.

The event will be open from 5.30pm and include a children’s funfair and sideshows with refreshments on sale.

Admission is 5 for adults and 3 for school- age children.

The display is provided by Rotary’s fundraising activities during the year.
