Visitors to the International Bird of Prey Centre at Duncombe Park, Helmsley, are in for a big tweet from the newest member of the flying team.

Inowashi – Japanese for “big eagle” – is currently undergoing training before she takes to the skies. The Steller’s Sea Eagle is one of the rarest – and the heaviest – species of eagle in the world and is found on the Siberian coastline and south towards Japan. They boast a wingspan of around 8ft.

Inowashi will be on show within the next couple of weeks at the centre which is open seven days a week from 10am. Flying demonstrations are held throughout the day.
