Ryedale has welcomed a new policing husband-and-wife team to their streets.
PCSO Annie Simpson and PCSO Sean Simpson, from York, joined the Ryedale policing team at the start of August.
Annie is the new PCSO for Pickering, whilst Sean will be patrolling the streets of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside.
The couple are keen users of Twitter and plan to engage with communities in Pickering, Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside on crime updates and appeals for information.
Inspector Andy Everitt, commander of Ryedale’s police force, said: “I am delighted to welcome Sean and Annie to the Ryedale team. They are experienced PCSOs who have worked in some challenging environments in the city of York.
“They bring a wealth of experience with them which I know will benefit our communities. They are both keen to understand issues of local concern and work with colleagues and partners to deliver positive actions that make a difference. This pro-active approach typifies the way we deliver policing services in Ryedale and both Annie and Sean play a key role in this. I know that they are looking forward to learning new skills as they adapt to policing in a more rural environment.”
Both officers have served with North Yorkshire Police for seven years.
