There will be cutlasses, eye patches and plenty of facial hair as a marauding horde of pirates join the North Yorkshire Moors Railway’s story train on Friday.
The gang of sea-faring outlaws will take over the 10am train from Pickering station and travel up to Goathland for some fun and games before hopping back on board the 12.50pm train to Levisham where there will be more entertainment.
The story train will land back at Pickering at 2.40pm.
Danielle Ramsey, marketing manager for the railway, said: “This is a fantastically fun way of enjoying a trip on the world’s most popular heritage railway – we hope that we’ll get lots of young pirates in costumes on board to make sure we don’t have any mutinies from the parents, and we’ll be giving away a free family ticket for the best pirate of the day – what better excuse is there to dust off your Jack Sparrow, Blackbeard or even Elizabeth Swann or Anne Bonney costume!”
Tickets are available from the railway.
