Man injured in attack - police appeal

Police in Malton are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered facial injuries in an assault.

The man, aged 35, sustained a fractured cheekbone and concussion in the incident in the Market Place on Sunday, May 18, at around 12.30am.

He was treated for his injuries at York District Hospital.

A 22-year-old man from Norton has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently on police bail as enquiries continue.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them with information.

They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a verbal altercation between a group of men shortly before the incident occurred.
