Young sports leaders from Rillington School enjoyed an afternoon with the Mayor of Scarborough in recognition of their excellence in sports leadership.
They were among forty-four pupils invited to Scarborough Town Hall to receive their sports leadership certificates from out-going Mayor Councillor Andrew Backhouse.
The youngsters planned, organised and led a Paralympic-themed sports festival for children with disabilities at Scarborough Rugby Club earlier in the year.
Lisa Ponter, Rillington Primary School Deputy Head, said: “The sports leaders had a wonderful afternoon with the Mayor and Mayoress. They were all extremely excited about receiving their certificates. It was thoroughly deserved as all the sports leaders have worked so hard. We are very proud of the achievements of the sports leaders and they have already started to plan how to use their new skills back at school.”
