A Malton brewery’s prized tipple will take on the cream of the crop when it competes in a national competition next month.
Brass Castle Brewery’s Sunshine India Pale Ale will face off against brews from across the country at the BeerX National Beer Competition 2014 in Sheffield, from March 12 to 14.
It earned its place by winning the cask Strong Bitters category in the regional heat – also being named Overall Champion of the Northeast Regional Competition – and will now just be one of handful of beers to represent the Northeast at BeerX.
“We are very proud of our beers and delighted to have this opportunity to compete on a national stage, against some of the finest beers from all over the UK,” said Head Brewer Phil Saltonstall (pictured).
“Obviously, we’re hoping to come home from BeerX with a medal, but we’re happy just to be going to Sheffield and introducing our beer to hundreds of drinkers who haven’t tried it before.”
