New Year’s Eve attack

Police are urgently appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Malton on New Year’s Eve.

The incident happened just after midnight as the 
victim was walking home along Chancery Lane.

The man was struck on the head from behind by his 
attacker leaving him with 
serious head injuries.

He was kept in hospital for treatment as a result of the 
attack.

Officers want anyone who witnessed the incident or who was in the area at the time of the offence to get in touch in a bid to track down the culprit and bring them to justice.

Anyone with any information is being urged to contact PC Andy Grant at Malton Police Station on 101 and quote the incident number 12130000539.
