Ampleforth-based author Jessica Blair – also knows as Bill Spence, has two more books published next month – adding to the 22 already out there.
A Tapestry of Dreams, set in th 1850s, is out in hardback. It is the story of Susannah Charlsworth, daughter of a wealthy Lincolnshire land owner. She makes a disastrous marriage to a mill owner in the West Riding of Yorkshire, but can she escape her misery when she would be a social outcast and lose everything?
Bill’s other book is the eagerly awaited paperback of In the Silence of the Snow which follows two life-long friends through the Second World War, both sharing a secret that must never be disclosed.
Based on Bill’s real-life experiences of flying in Lancasters during the Second World War, his Just One More Day, will be published in 2015 and will be his 24thnovel under the name of Jessica Blair.
Bill is also a member of the Scarborough Writers Circle and has been associated with the organisation for more than 20 years.
The rugged Yorkshire coast and its ports of the 19th century form the backdrop to most of the novels of romance, mystery and adventure.
These include The Red Shawl, A Distant Harbour and Wings of Sorrow.
Both A Tapestry of Dreams and Silence of the Snow will be published by Piatkus and are out on February 6.
