Mobile phone coverage will be on the agenda at a new Community Forum organised by Parish Councils and the North York Moors National Park Authority.
It is hoped the forum at Lady Lumley’s School, Pickering, will be the first of many discussions about how the North York Moors can become a better and easier place to live and work.
The first meeting will include an update on the Mobile Infrastructure Project in the North York Moors by Chris France, the authority’s Director of Planning, and Will Osborne from Harlequin Group, the company contracted to do planning, survey and design for the Project.
This will include information on proposals for dealing with key “not spots” - areas with no mobile reception.
The forum will also involve local users sharing their experiences of Facebook and Twitter and how local community groups can use social media to increase their profile.
Other subjects which are considered topical to the North York Moors are expected to be on the table at subsequent forums.
Attendance is free but the public are asked to book their place by September 30 with Judith Seaton, of the North York Moors National Park Authority, by contacting (01439) 772700 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
