Representatives from The Yorkshire Energy Partnership (YEP) will be heading out to village halls across the district to show people have they can save energy and money by becoming a member of an “Oil Club.”

Joining an Oil Club gives local people an opportunity to bulk buy fuel - allowing them to keep prices down and also protecting the local environment.

An Oil Buying Co-ordinator will be on hand to speak to people at:

*Cropton Village Hall, on Tuesday, 10am to 2pm;

*Weaverthorpe Village Hall, on Saturday, February 15, 2pm to 4pm;

*The Old Vicarage, Helmsley, on Wednesday, February 19, 7.15pm;

*Thornton-le-Dale Village Hall, on Thursday, March 6, at 7pm; and

*Foxholes Village Hall, on Monday, March 24, at 7pm.

The YEP scheme is supported by Ryedale District Council and Scarborough Borough Council. The organisation is a not-for-profit sustainability company which works to offer affordable, sustainable energy alternatives.

Further information is available from the YEP on (01904) 545020 or oilryedaleandscarborough@energypartnership.org.uk
