Castle Howard Trail Races will return for 2014 offering runners fantastic routes around the grounds of Yorkshire’s finest stately home.
The 7th annual 10km, 6km and 1km kid’s dash will be held on Sunday, June 15, raising vital funds for Welburn Community Primary School near Malton.
All three trail races will start and finish on the majestic North Lawn, set between the stately home and the Great Lake.
The 10km route takes in two laps of the grounds surrounding the house, offering a variety of farm tracks, woods before crossing an 18th century bridge and climb to the Temple of the Four Winds.
Both 6km and 10km routes enjoy breathtaking views of the variety of architectural gems on the estate and the Howardian Hills.
This year Pickering Running Club will be offering their support to the event, promising a fun day of racing with fabulous prizes on offer.
Race Director Richard Hudson said runners of all abilities will enjoy fantastic views and a great family day out. He said: “It’s fantastic to have an event that appeals to runners of all levels and ages and to be supporting a worthy, local cause in the process.
“We’re sure that those who are new to the event will be impressed with the stunning location of Castle Howard and we look forward to welcoming back a bigger and better event in 2014.”
