Two free family festivals will bookend the North York Moors National Park’s celebrations for National Park Week.
The fun begins with ParkFest at The Moors National Park Centre, Danby, on Sunday, while MoorFest at Sutton Bank National Park Centre on Sunday, August 3, rounds off a week of guided walks, children’s events and adventure activities.
National Parks Week is an annual celebration of the places, people and things to be found within the UK’s 15 National Parks.
Events inbetween the two festivals celebrate the wildlife and heritage of the North York Moors including guided walks, foraging and bug hunting as well as offering something to keep thrill-seekers happy such as bushcraft, kayaking and mountain biking, via East Barnby Outdoor Centre.
Sally Ann Smith, Events and Exhibitions Coordinator for the national park, said: “There’s plenty for children and families to do throughout National Parks Week with over 15 events and something different each day.
“Don’t forget to keep an eye out for our pink sheep at the centres and out and about in the North York Moors - spot three and you’ll be entered into a great prize draw.”
