A new partnership is aiming to offer agricultural show secretaries full insurance protection
McClarrons Ltd, of Malton, has teamed up with the Institute of Agricultural Secretaries and Administrators (IAgSA) to offer the exclusive product which reflects the full and varied role of the agricultural secretary.
It takes into account the broad range of professional risks faced by rural administrators and provides comprehensive insurance protection against claims for negligence and wrongful acts such as errors and omissions.
The tailor-made policy better reflects the varied risks faced by an “administrator” than a standard Professional Indemnity insurance policy, said Sean McClarron, director of McClarrons Ltd.
“Many general insurers don’t have a full understanding of the agricultural community and the rural administrators’ role, so they are unable to offer specialist advice and cover, and that can leave people exposed to financial costs they simply cannot afford without insurance cover,” he said.
The bespoke product, which is underwritten by leading UK and global insurer, AXA, is exclusively available to IAgSA Members. Billie Johnson, chairman of IAgSA, said: “IAgSA are delighted to be able to offer an insurance policy which has been tailored to meet the requirements of our members.”
