Forget the European Elections – the only vote that matters this year is what fancy dress outfit a bride-to-be will be forced to wear when she takes part in the Race for Life.
Friends who make a donation in support of Sabrina Stead and her hen party are being invited to choose whether she will dress up as a Penguin, Clown or Oompa Loompa when she sets off on the 5k run at York Racecourse on Sunday June 22.
And like all good elections, the result is just too close to call.
There is one guarantee, however – whatever happens it will mean good-natured ribbing for Sabrina, who works at A and J Stead Ltd, Malton, when she dons her outfit for the first time.
“It’s for such a good cause, so it is worth it!” she said.
Sabrina, who marries Karl Richardson at St Mary’s Priory in Old Malton on July 19, will be joined on the run by her hen party including Gemma Piercy, Vicky Burgess, Kirsty Ratcliffe, Natalie Rookes and Amy Mills.
To sponsor the runners, pick up a sponsor form from A and J Stead Ltd or The Topiary Tree.
Donations can also be made via Sabrina’s Race for Life Facebook page, or by texting CLUK88 and amount to 70070. Alternatively email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.justgiving.com/teams/ready-steady-cluck
Race for Life proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK.
