Entries are welcomed for the Middleton Hunt Pony Club’s annual Castle Howard Pleasure Ride on Sunday, May 4.
The 12-mile ride will take in many paths and tracks that are not open to the public, offering rare views of the stately home and the surrounding Howardian Hills.
Trish Russell, district commissioner of the Middleton Pony Club, said: “This is one of our main fundraising events of the year and we’re so grateful to the Castle Howard Estate for allowing us to run it. There are many familiar faces who come year after year and we always – if possible – try and do the odd tweak to the route to keep it fresh for them. It’s quite amazing how far some people travel to take part.”
Riders are welcome from 10am, with the final start time at 1pm. Entry is £15 in advance, £20 on the day, or £10 for children aged 12 and younger. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Any enquiries to Sarah Lyon on (01653) 619453.
