Two hours of ironing, a free MoT, tickets to Eden Camp and a luxury manicure are just some of the lots which will go under the hammer at an Auction of Promises in aid of Brooklyn Pre-School Playgroup next week.

The auction, at Ryedale Indoor Bowls Club, Norton, on Saturday March 22, at 7pm, will help raise money to buy new equipment for the children at the Norton playgroup.

Entry is ticket only.

They cost £5 and include Fletcher’s Butchers Steak Pie with mash & peas – a vegetarian option available by prior arrangement. There will also be a licensed bar and a raffle will be drawn during the event.

“Preparations are well underway for the auction and I have been overwhelmed with the amount of support that we have received from local businesses and members of the community in Norton and Malton,” said Mary Windsor, chairman of the playgroup committee. “We hope that the event will be a success and we would love local people to help us by donating ‘Promises’ or coming to the event to bid for items.”

Keith Warters, of Cundalls, will run the auction which includes, among other lots, food vouchers, a children’s party, a free haircut, and much more.

Tickets are available from Mary on (01653) 696029 or committeechair@brooklynplaygroup.or.uk
