A trailer which is used as a mobile tourist information centre by the North York Moors National Park has been stolen from Helmsley.
The thieves forced a padlock to enter a compound on Sawmill Lane before towing the trailer away, say police.
The battleship grey unit, which is about the size of a caravan, was taken sometime between Tuesday, January 21, and the following day. It had been bought to replace an older trailer which was used as an information point at villages across the North York Moors
PC Linda Coles, who is leading the investigation, is seeking the public’s help to trace the thieves.
She particularly wants to speak to anyone who can help the establish the time of the theft and the direction in which the offenders were travelling.
Anyone with information should contact PC Coles on 101.
