Two arts and food trails have proved so popular with visitors to North Yorkshire that a reprint of 20,000 had to be ordered.
The Delicious Trail and Art & Heritage Trail leaflets highlight the rich culture and delicious produce on offer in the Discover Yorkshire Coast which cover Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, and in the North York Moors covering the market towns of Malton, Pickering and Helmsley.
“These two local campaigns have been such a huge success we had to reprint a further 10,000 of each to cover the main summer season,” said Welcome to Yorkshire’s North Yorkshire area director Janet Deacon.
In the leaflets, food-loving visitors to the region can find details ranging from high-end restaurants such as James Martin’s Talbot Hotel in Yorkshire, where Observer food critic Jay Rayner recently enjoyed “the single best plate of food I have been served so far this year”, to delicious afternoon cream teas. The leaflet also lists food festivals and farmers’ markets.
Culture vultures, meanwhile, can use the Arts and Heritage Trail to plan a trip around the region that covers the visual arts, decorative crafts, theatre, arts festivals and events, and museum exhibitions – and even includes a touring gallery in a caravan.
