Popular Methodist Minister, the Rev Geoff Floyd, is to retire shortly after spending five years at Malton’s Savile Street Church.

Taking his place will be taken by the Rev Tanya Short, a probationary minister currently serving the Airedale area in West Yorkshire.

Mr Floyd, who is a former superintendent minister in Ryedale, was ordained in 1985, and after his final service at the Malton church on Sunday July 13, at 6pm, he and his wife Anne will be moving to Wiltshire. Meanwhile the Rev Short, a mother of two grown up children, will have her welcoming service at Savile Street on August 31. She will also be responsible for several other Methodist churches in the area.
