A quiz team from Terrington Hall School is through to the North-East regional semi-finals of a national competition after earning victory in the area heat of the Quiz Club National Keystage 2 General Knowledge Inter-school Championship.

Pitting their wits against teams from Lyndhurst, Coram House and Bootham Junior School, the Terrington Hall team achieved 83 per cent across forty questions, ahead of Lyndhurst who came in with 78 per cent.

Nick Witteveen, Terrington Hall’s Head of Latin, said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of this event which not only tested their general knowledge but also required sophisticated team tactics. I am immensely proud of their performance and look forward to the next round.”

The team will now travel to Birkdale Prep School, Sheffield, on April 30 for the North-East semi-finals, the winner will then take part in the national finals later in the Summer term.
