The 2013 Rosedale Agricultural and Horticultural Show was another bumper event, despite poor weather, its annual meeting was told.
Secretary Malcolm Leckenby said the legendary show, which began in 1871, had again attracted large crowds from all part of the country.
“It was a record-breaker but fortunately the rain didn’t arrive until well into the afternoon by which time most people had been in the showfield for sometime,” he said.
It was another financial success, said Mr Leckenby, with sponsorship from local and regional firms being as strong as ever. As a “thank you” gesture to members, the show organisers are giving a discount membership.
“We already have inquiries for this year’s show and we shall be planning the scheduled in the next couple of weeks,” said Mr Leckenby.
Among the officers elected were chairman, Sam Dring; and vice chairman, Simon Tyrell.
