West Heslerton Primary School has been presented with a special trophy after another victory in the McCain Yorkshire Coast School Challenge.
Its pupils claimed a win in the Small School category for the fifth year in a row with 16 entries in the competition recently.
They were presented with the Jimmy Corrigan Memorial Trophy for having the highest number of participants in the McCain Yorkshire Coast Fun Run which accompanies the annual 10km race.
Harry Forkin, chairman of Scarborough Athletics Club, said: “It’s marvellous how West Heslerton School consistently rises to the challenge and encourages such a large number of the pupils to enter the event.
“It is a fantastic sight to see all the children taking part in the fun run and receiving their medals at the finish.”
This year’s race saw a total of 342 entries from a total of 37 schools.
