A bevvy of historic buildings and scenes of Malton life have been captured by a
professional artist who is to exhibit his works this month.

Douglas Hill has spent a lifetime as an artist and exhibited extensively in the USA , India and New Zealand.

After spending some 20 years in Cornwall he decided to move to Malton with his wife, Jennifer, and since doing so has painted a catalogue of scenes in the town.

Now some 40 of his works are to go on display at Malton Fine Arts Gallery in the Market Place from April 11 - 30.

Two of his latest works feature rugby and football matches played in Malton.

“I have found Malton a very interesting place as an artist, because I always paint outdoors,” said Douglas.
