Members of the public are invited to help the police to recover stolen items - and combat theft - by signing up to the Immobilise campaign.

Police officers are heading out into the community over the coming weeks to encourage people to register their mobile phones, cameras, bicycles, sat navs and more with the free Government website.

They will be on hand to upload details of valuables for anyone who does not have internet access. Bring along details of the property, along with make, model and serial numbers to have it registered.

The locations are:

*PCSO Andy Birkinshaw at Sherburn Methodist Church, Friday, January 24, 10am to 12pm, and Woodlands Community Centre, Rillington, on Saturday, January 25, 10am to 12pm;

*PCSO Nikki Pounder at Sheriff Hutton Village Hall on Friday, January 24, 10am to 12pm, and Slingsby Village Green, 2pm to 3.45pm.

*PCSO Annie Simpson at Pickering Library on Tuesday, 10am to 12pm, and Pickering Co-op, on Wednesday, January 22, 10am to 12pm; and
