RESIDENTS in Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale are being invited to find out more about their local mental health services.
Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is holding the event to give residents the opportunity to hear about the positive service improvements happening in this area.
The “Celebrating Positive Practice in Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale” event will take place on Thursday May 3 at the Ryedale Indoor Bowls Club, Scarborough Road, Norton. Registration is from 10am and lunch will be provided.
The day will offer the chance to hear how the trust plans to improve facilities for older people at the Springwood Unit in Malton, how it listens to carers and how participation in involvement opportunities and a leadership programme has benefited service users and carers. There will also be the opportunity to hear from a trust consultant on how new ways of working in mental health have improved patient care, as well as ample chance to ask questions.
Kathryn Ord, head of member services said: “The trust is accountable to local people and this meeting is a chance to find out about and input into how mental health services are provided in the local area. It’s part of our ongoing programme to involve members, service users, carers and the general public in our events.” If you’d like to go along please contact Zoë Spence on (01325) 552312 or email email@example.com
